5 BENEFITS OF USING A PORTABLE JUMP STARTER

WHO NEEDS A PORTABLE JUMP STARTER?

The iTechworld Portable Jump Starter is the perfect choice for people travelling and for those who enjoy outdoor activities. They are also an important safety item.

Every motorist can benefit from having a jump starter. In colder weather, for example, keeping a portable starter in the garage on the charger is a great way to help a sluggish battery on a cold morning.

After using your jump starter you can just throw it in the boot or glove box in case you need it later.

As a father of two daughters, I understand the importance of being prepared for car trouble. I don’t want my girls to be stranded somewhere asking strangers for a jump. The peace of mind these portable starters give me is well worth the price of two jumper packs.

Car battery issues are a leading cause of car problems, so it’s important to have a Portable Jump Starter on hand. Here are the five key benefits of having one:

  1. You’ll be prepared for car battery issues
  2. You can jump-start your car without assistance
  3. You’ll have peace of mind knowing you’re prepared for car trouble
  4. A Portable Jump Starter is a small and convenient tool to have in your car
  5. You can use your Portable Jump Starter to help other drivers in need

#1. YOU DON’T NEED TO ASK FOR HELP WHEN YOU HAVE A JUMP STARTER.

There are many advantages to having a jump starter in your car. The most obvious one is that it eliminates the need to find someone with a car to give you a jump start. This can be a hassle, especially if you’re stranded at night or in an unfamiliar area. But it’s also a safety consideration. If you have your jump starter in your glove box, you can pull it out, connect it and get your vehicle started immediately. This is much safer than trying to flag down a stranger for help.

Another advantage of having a jump starter is that it can save you money. If your car battery dies and you have to call a tow truck, you’ll have to pay for the tow plus the cost of a new battery. But if you have a jump starter, you can avoid all of that.

So if you’re considering buying a jump starter, don’t wait. It could be a lifesaver – literally.

#2. THERE’S NO ACCESSIBILITY CONCERNS.

If you or someone you know is disabled, then you know that sometimes it can be difficult to get around and access certain areas. This can pose even more of a problem if you’re stranded or parked in a difficult-to-reach place. We received some feedback from an iTechworld customer on such an issue.

“My elderly neighbour called me one day. Her husband utilizes a wheelchair and had recently been ill. As a result, they had not used their wheelchair accessible van for a few weeks. Their front porch allows them to pull the van next to the porch and manually open the sliding door to lower the van’s wheelchair ramp onto the porch.

On that day, after locking the wheelchair into the van’s locking mechanism, it was discovered that the van’s battery was dead. The wheelchair mechanism locks when the chair enters it and can only be unlocked electronically. Consequently, the husband was locked into the chair and could not be removed through the passenger door because the van was parked next to the porch – the door could not be opened.

#3. TWICE THE CONNECTIONS MEANS TWICE THE CHANCE FOR ISSUES.

With booster cables, you have to make two sets of connections. This doubling of connections creates more chances for issues to occur, and reversed connections are especially dangerous. They can create sparks that could cause an explosion if there are battery gases present. Reversed connections can also damage expensive electronic components on one or both vehicles involved, depending on when in the connection sequence the reverse connection takes place. Jump starters simplify the process by having just one set of connections to make.

#4. CONCERNS OF DAMAGE TO THE HOST VEHICLE.

Even when you follow the proper connection sequence and starting procedure, there’s always the risk that the host vehicle might not be able to provide the extra power needed by the disabled vehicle. If any components of the host vehicle’s electrical system are already weak or suspect, the additional requirements of jump starting could push those components over the edge. We once brought a friend’s car’s electrical system to its knees while borrowing it to use for a jump start.
